L. S. Lowry (1887–1976)
Description
Lowry was an internationally-acclaimed artist, who developed his own distinctive style of painting and is best known for his industrial and urban landscapes. A blue plaque commemorating his lifetime achievements was erected in 2001 at the Limelight Building, on Shrewsbury Street in Old Trafford.
