Ronald Gow (1897–1993)
Description
Well-known dramatist Ronald Gow was amongst the first intake of students at Altrincham’s Grammar School for Boys. He is remembered for his adaptation of Walter Greenwood’s novel, ‘Love on the Dole’ (1933), which opened at the Manchester Repertory Theatre in 1934. A blue plaque dedicated to Ronald Gow was erected at Barclay’s Bank, on Stamford Road in Altrincham, in 1995.
