Description
Considered one of Britain’s most-celebrated sopranos of the 20th century, Dame Isobel Baillie, DBE is often associated with the opera, oratorio and lieder. She was the first British singer to perform in California’s Hollywood Bowl, and was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1951. She was elevated to Dame Commander in 1978.
