Stretford Warship Week Programme
Dublin Core
Title
Stretford Warship Week Programme
Description
Distributed to Stretford residents for their annual national savings week, 'Warship Week' was held between 14–21 March 1942. That year, the town's goal was to reach a fundraising target of £400,000, in order to fund a Destroyer of the "Hunt" class. In 1942, Stretford exceeded their goal, and were able to adopt the HMS Escapade — a ship of a larger, and therefore more prestigious class.
