Vacant (1997-present)
Since 1997, the building has been under private ownership and has remained vacant. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, the exterior of the building was painted pink and blue. Presently, its light blue exterior only adds to the curiosity and appeal it has garnered over the years, sparking various speculation about its future usage, with its current owner quoted as saying that it is ‘still destined to be a family entertainment centre’. Various consultation events have since been held to gather public opinion and ideas in regards to the regeneration of the area surrounding the building. However, there are no detailed plans in the works at present. Whatever the future may hold for the building, it continues to remain an important part of Stretford's heritage.
